Where Bulabog is
Rough Guides describes Bulabog as running “along the east side of Boracay, directly across the island from White Beach”, with the island’s water sports centre for kiteboarding and windsurfing, and puts it about a 10-minute walk from Station 2 through D’Mall1. The bay is shallow, with an offshore reef1. The same guide calls the accommodation along it “basic but convenient”1.
A caution on the walk: that is a walking estimate from a guidebook. The distances in the hotel table below are straight-line, which understates any real route.
The wind season
Amihan is the northeast monsoon. Freestyle Academy, an IKO-affiliated kitesurfing and wingfoil school on Bulabog, says the best time is “during the Amihan season, which typically runs from November to April”2. Rough Guides gives the same November to April window, strongest in January and February, with wind speeds of 17 to 29 mph (15 to 25 knots)1.
The sources used here say nothing about swimming conditions on Bulabog beyond the shallow bay and the reef, and nothing about noise. Both are left to the reader to check with the hotel.
