Boracay in November: Weather, Sea Conditions and What Is On

In brief

November has 239.4 mm of rain in PAGASA’s Roxas City normals and 208 mm in a model of the island’s own coordinates, down from 304.9 mm and 341 mm in October. PAGASA declared the Amihan (northeast monsoon) on 27 October 2025, so November opens inside that season, and PAGASA still counts it in its rainy season.

  • Rain: 239.4 mm at the Roxas City gauge, about 100 km east of the island; 208 mm in the NASA POWER model for Boracay12.
  • Air: modelled mean 27.8 C, mean maximum 29.8 C, mean minimum 25.3 C, relative humidity 84 percent2.
  • Sea: modelled surface temperature averages 29.4 C3.
  • Storms: Typhoon Haiyan struck on 8 November 2013, and boats were suspended on 25 November 2016 under Signal No. 258.
  • Daylight: sunset at Kalibo falls at 5:25 p.m. on 1 November and 5:22 p.m. on 15 November, the earliest of the months checked7.

The detail

This page covers November in the Boracay calendar: the weather rows with their sources, what the Amihan does to each coast, and what is dated in the month. For the storm record behind the bullets, see typhoons and cancelled boats.

Weather in November

There is no PAGASA station on Boracay, so the table mixes a gauge and models and labels each.

Month Rain, Roxas City gauge (PAGASA normal, mm) Rain, modelled for Boracay (NASA POWER, mm) Mean temp (C) Mean max (C) Mean min (C) Humidity (%) Sea surface (C, model)
October 304.9 341 27.8 30.2 25.5 83 29.8
November 239.4 208 27.8 29.8 25.3 84 29.4
December 171.3 207 27.1 29.6 24.3 85 28.7

The Roxas City column is a gauge. Roxas City, in Capiz, is the nearest PAGASA station, roughly 100 km east of Boracay across northern Panay, on a different coast16. PAGASA’s page describes the values as 30-year averages but does not name the years or label the unit; they behave as millimetres per month1. The remaining columns are modelled. NASA POWER gives a 2001-2020 reanalysis climatology for 11.97 N, 121.92 E, with rainfall converted from daily to monthly totals2. The sea figure is a 2015-2024 mean of Open-Meteo’s marine model, with hourly values from 28.2 to 30.4 C in November3.

At Roxas City, rain eases by about 65 mm from October to November, and by about 68 mm more into December1. In the model the drop from October is larger: from 341 to 208 mm, a difference of 133 mm by subtraction, and December (207 mm) is level with November2.

The Roxas City record has a November entry: the strongest wind ever logged there, 58 m/s from the east-northeast, on 8 November 2013, the day Haiyan crossed Panay6.

Sea and wind

PAGASA declared the Amihan on 27 October 2025, expecting cool, dry air across most of the country, with rough sea conditions and shear lines also possible4. PAGASA’s national calendar still lists November in the rainy season, which runs June to November, with the dry season starting in December11.

Under northeast winds the Bulabog side of the island takes the wind first. A University of the Philippines modelling study found higher wind and wave setup at Bulabog under northeast conditions, and at White Beach under southwest ones5. Storms break the pattern: during Haiyan the month’s winds were mostly northeasterly, but peak storm winds at Boracay came from the southwest, and White Beach took a storm surge with a maximum water level of 1.2 m while Bulabog stayed stable5.

Tabon port is tied to the southwest-monsoon season in a February 2025 report12; the seasonal switch is on the port page.

What is on

No festival is dated to November in the sources behind this site. The national list for 2026 has two dates: 1 November, a Sunday, as a special non-working day, and 30 November, a Monday, as a regular holiday10.

Sunrise and sunset use Kalibo, about 0.45 degrees of longitude east of the island: on 15 November sunrise is at 5:47 a.m. and sunset at 5:22 p.m.7. Boracay’s own times are a few minutes later.

Crowds

No monthly arrivals report for November is cited here. The one November report in the sources is about cancellations: after Haiyan, the president of the Philippine Tour Operators Association said resorts at Boracay, Palawan, Cebu and Bohol had seen cancellation rates of 30 to 40 percent since the storm, as Reuters reported on 14 November 20139.

What to book ahead

Boats between Caticlan and Boracay have stopped for storm signals in November: on 25 November 2016 at least 300 passengers were stranded at the Caticlan and Cagban ports8. Keep a spare day before any onward flight, and prefer rooms that can be changed without a fee.
