The detail
April is the last month of low rain before the wet season starts in earnest, and the hottest of the dry months before May. This page gives April’s row beside March and May from the month-by-month table, then the sea and wind, dated events and the arrivals reports, most of which come from Holy Week.
Weather in April
There is no PAGASA station on Boracay5. Roxas City in Capiz is the nearest station on PAGASA’s normals list, at 11.60 N, 122.75 E, roughly 100 km east of the island and on a different coast59. The NASA POWER figures are a reanalysis model for the island’s coordinates (11.97 N, 121.92 E), not measurements6.

The two rain columns agree about April: 69.9 mm at the gauge and 57 mm in the model, then a sharp rise in May to 144.7 and 225 mm56. They differ in size by a smaller margin in April than in the wet months. PAGASA does not state the base period of its normals or label the units; the figures are read here as millimetres of rain per month5.
April is hot in the model: a mean maximum of 31.7 C, a mean minimum of 25.2 C, and humidity at its lowest of the year. PAGASA’s national description puts March to May in the hot dry season and says temperature and humidity are especially uncomfortable in those months1.
A normal month can hold a heavy day. The Roxas City extremes sheet lists 172.0 mm in a single day on 11 April 2022, against an April normal of 69.9 mm for the whole month9. That is a record entry for that gauge, not a typical April.
Sea and wind
PAGASA declared the northeast monsoon, the Amihan, on 27 October 2025, expecting cool, dry air and also “rough sea conditions and shear lines”2. The southwest monsoon is the Habagat; its 2025 start was 30 May3. The sources used here give no end date for Amihan, so April’s position between the two is not stated.
A University of the Philippines modelling abstract (15 November 2024) finds that White Beach faces the southwesterly wind and Bulabog the northeasterly, so in northeast conditions the wind and wave setup is higher at Bulabog4. A February 2025 fee report ties an extra charge at Tabon port to the southwest-monsoon season, which is the Habagat11. Which port is used in which season has the detail. The sea is warmer than in March: the model mean is 28.9 C, against 27.3 C7.
What is on
Dragon boat festival. The LOVEBoracay International Dragon Boat Festival ran 24 to 26 April 2026 with over 50 teams from 14 countries and regions and some 2,000 athletes, organized by the Boracay Dragon Boat Association, the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation and the Malay local government10. The sources used here announce no 2027 dates.
Holy Week. Holy Week moves every year. It fell in April in 2022, 2023 and 2025. Holy Week 2027 ends with Black Saturday on 27 March, so April 2027 has none812. This page does not give 2026 dates, which the sources used here do not confirm.
In 2025, Memorandum Order No. 2025-33 stopped permits for parties and loud music from 6 a.m. on Good Friday, 18 April, to 6 a.m. on Black Saturday, 19 April13. In 2023 the reported window began at 6 p.m. on Good Friday14.
Crowds
April carries the largest daily arrivals in the sources, all in Holy Week. In 2022 the DOT secretary said arrivals were 21,252 on 14 April and 22,519 on 15 April, against a recommended daily threshold of 19,215; she said the 2019 “Laboracay” weekend reached 14,000 a day15. In 2023, arrivals were reported at 5,000 to 6,000 a day through Holy Saturday14. For 2025, Malay expected about 59,000 visitors over the Lenten period13. After February 2025’s count of 174,966, the local government said it was braced for March and April 2025 to be the peak16.
What to book ahead
The dated item is Holy Week when it falls in April, and in 2027 it does not. In April 2023, entry during Holy Week was reported to require a booking at a DOT-accredited hotel and a valid ID14. Whether that applies in any later year is not stated in the sources used here, so check Boracay entry requirements before travelling. The dragon boat dates for 2027 are unannounced in the sources used here; Boracay peak dates for 2026 and 2027 will carry them once they are.
