In brief
BDO’s own page lists a PHP 250 fee for a withdrawal with a card issued overseas, on top of whatever your home bank charges, and BPI says only that “access fees may apply”. As of October 2026, the locator pages of BDO, BPI, Metrobank, EastWest, PNB and RCBC each list a branch or ATM on Boracay, at addresses including Station 1, Station 2, CityMall and D’ Mall.
- BDO: PHP 250 for cards issued overseas, PHP 50,000 maximum a day and PHP 25,000 per transaction on its page, with no statement on whether the per-transaction cap applies to overseas cards1.
- BPI: access fees may apply to foreign-issued accounts, and your own bank may add a charge; no peso figure is given. It dispenses at most 40 bills in a single withdrawal2.
- Security Bank and China Bank list only Kalibo in Aklan, and UnionBank’s directory offers no Aklan city, so none of the three shows a Boracay entry131415.
- Visitors from selected countries can use GCash for 30 days through GTourist, activated once in the Philippines3.
- Foreign-issued Visa cards can fund a Maya wallet, a service Visa announced in the second quarter of 20255.

Yes. As of October 2026, BDO, BPI, Metrobank, EastWest, PNB and RCBC list a branch or ATM on the island on their own locators, with addresses in the table above789101112. No bank gives a total count, and none says whether a machine has cash, so ask your accommodation where its guests withdraw.
Which banks have a branch on Boracay?
Per their own sites, BDO (two branches), BPI, Metrobank (two branches), PNB and RCBC list a branch on the island, and EastWest lists an entry at the Alexandrea building789101112. Security Bank, China Bank and UnionBank show none131415.
How much does BDO charge a foreign card?
PHP 250 per withdrawal for cards issued overseas, plus any fee your card issuer charges1.
What does BPI charge foreign cards?
BPI says access fees may apply to foreign-issued accounts and your own bank may add a charge. It gives no peso amount2.
What is the most I can withdraw at once?
BDO’s page lists PHP 25,000 per transaction and PHP 50,000 a day, and does not say how that applies to overseas cards1. BPI dispenses at most 40 bills in a single withdrawal2.
Can tourists use GCash?
Visitors from eligible countries can use GTourist for 30 days, activated in the Philippines3.
Can I top up Maya with a foreign card?
Maya users can fund the wallet from foreign-issued Visa cards, according to Visa’s release dated 06/05/20255.
The detail
Cash is the first practical question after the fees at the port, and the answer depends on your card more than on the island. This page gives the two bank fee pages that exist, what they leave unsaid, which banks list a Boracay branch or ATM on their own sites, and the wallet options aimed at visitors. For other costs on arrival see Boracay Terminal and Environmental Fees; for the full list of island rules see Boracay Rules for Visitors.
The short answer
| If you are… | Plan for |
|---|---|
| Withdrawing with a foreign card at BDO | PHP 250 per withdrawal from BDO, plus your card issuer’s own charges1 |
| Withdrawing with a foreign card at BPI | An access fee that may apply; BPI gives no amount, and your bank may add its own2 |
| Using a Philippine bank card | Limits and fees as set by your bank; BDO lists PHP 18 for non-BDO local cards1 |
| A visitor with a GCash-eligible home country | GTourist, valid 30 days, activated in the Philippines3 |
| Choosing a bank’s machine | Check the table of bank locators below: BDO, BPI, Metrobank, EastWest, PNB and RCBC list Boracay entries789101112 |
| Unsure of any of this | Carry enough cash for the day, because no bank page says whether a machine has cash |
ATMs on the island
BDO’s page says it runs over 5,400 ATMs nationwide, and BPI says its network has over 2,500 machines “at major locations and tourist destinations”12. Those two fee pages do not list machines on Boracay; the banks’ separate locator pages do, and they are tabulated below. No bank page used here says whether machines run out of cash.
If you rely on a machine, ask your accommodation which one it uses and carry some cash for the crossing and the first day.
Banks whose own sites list a Boracay branch or ATM
As of October 2026, six banks list a Boracay branch or ATM on their own locator or finder pages. The table gives each location as the bank prints it. “Boracay” here is the island, in Barangay Balabag of the town of Malay.
| Bank | Location as listed | Source |
|---|---|---|
| BDO | Branch “BDO Aklan – Boracay”, Station 2, Brgy. Balabag, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan; branch “BDO Aklan – CityMall Boracay”, Units 5-6 & 11-12 CityMall Boracay Sitio Diniwid, Brgy. Balabag, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan. ATM entries “BDO Aklan-Boracay” and “BDO Aklan-Boracay 2” at G/F Cmall, Station 2, Sitio Mangayad, Brgy. Balabag, Malay, Aklan, and two “CityMall Boracay” ATM entries at the CityMall address, each marked available 24/7 | 7 |
| BPI | Branch “Boracay”, Barangay Balabag, Boracay Island, Malay, Kalibo, Aklan 5600; a cash accept machine “Boracay CAM” and ATMs “Boracay 1”, “Boracay 2” and “Boracay 3” in Brgy. Balabag; ATM “Citymall Boracay”, GF ATM 1 City Mall Boracay Station 1, Balabag; ATMs “Boracay D’mall 1”, “2” and “3” at D’ Mall Commercial Center, Balabag Station 2 | 8 |
| Metrobank | “Metrobank Boracay Branch”, Brgy. Balabag, Boracay, Malay, Aklan (infront of Astoria Boracay); “Metrobank Boracay – Station II Branch”, Brgy. Balabag, Boracay, Malay, Aklan (beside Boracay Crown Regency Resort); both marked with an ATM | 9 |
| EastWest | “Boracay”, Alexandrea Bdlg., Main Road Brgy. Balabag Boracay Island, Malay Aklan (listed as on-site); “Crimson Hotel Boracay”, Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay, Punta Bunga Cove, Brgy. Yapak, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan (listed as off-site) | 10 |
| PNB | “Boracay-Station 2”, Boracay Island, Bgy. Balabag, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan; marked as branch and ATM | 11 |
| RCBC | “BORACAY”, Station 1, Barangay Balabag, Malay, Aklan | 12 |
Metrobank’s page states that it was updated as of 1 October 20269. The other pages carry no date. Listing a machine is not a guarantee that it is working or stocked; the pages do not say.
On the mainland side of the crossing, RCBC’s finder lists a “CATICLAN BRANCH LITE” at Jetty Port, Brgy. Caticlan, Malay, Aklan, and PNB lists “Aklan-Caticlan” at EDSA Building, National Road, Caticlan, Malay, Aklan1112.
Four other banks show nothing on the island. Security Bank’s list of branches has two entries in the Aklan region, both at 263 Roxas Avenue, Kalibo13. China Bank’s locator, filtered to Aklan, returns one entry, in Kalibo14. UnionBank’s directory offers Bohol, Iloilo Province, Leyte, Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental under Visayas, with no Aklan city15. A search for “Boracay” on Landbank’s Find Us page returns no result16. Confirm any machine in the bank’s own app or locator before you travel.
Fees and limits on bank pages
| BDO | BPI | |
|---|---|---|
| Machines | Over 5,400 nationwide | Over 2,500 |
| Daily limit | PHP 50,000 (adjustable in the app) | PHP 100,000 for EMV Debit Cirrus Gold cardholders |
| Per transaction | PHP 25,000 (PHP 10,000 by QR code or biometrics); minimum PHP 200 | At most 40 bills per withdrawal |
| Own cards | Free for BDO debit | Not stated on the page |
| Cards issued overseas | PHP 250, “subject to additional fees the card issuer will charge” | “Access fees may apply”; no amount |
Sources:1 for BDO,2 for BPI. Both pages are undated.
The BDO page does not say whether the PHP 25,000 per-transaction cap applies to overseas cards1. BPI’s PHP 100,000 figure is for one named card type, not for foreign cards2. A PHP 200 foreign-card fee for BPI appears online; BPI’s own page does not state it, so it is not used here. No Metrobank limit or fee is given here, because none of the pages cited states one.
Good to know The two fees stack. The bank that owns the machine charges its fee, and your home bank may then charge its own for a foreign withdrawal. BDO’s wording says so directly1. Fewer, larger withdrawals cost less in fixed fees, up to your bank’s limit.
Money exchange
No source used here lists money changers on Boracay or gives exchange rates, and no rate is quoted on this page. Whatever you do, ask for a receipt that shows the amount changed and the rate before you hand over cash.
Wallets for visitors
Philippine QR wallets are the other way to pay, and two have visitor routes.
- GCash GTourist. Lets visitors use GCash for 30 days and can only be activated once you are in the Philippines. It needs a non-Philippine mobile number or SIM (with roaming, for the one-time code) and an age of at least 18. A basic account needs a Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card in your name; a fully verified account needs a foreign passport. It is available in selected countries, and GCash’s list (about 100 countries) included Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the UAE, the UK and the USA when we read it in October 202634.
- GCash and Mastercard. The Daily Tribune reported on 3 August 2026 that a “Mastercard Pay Local” service, letting eligible foreign visitors link a Mastercard to GCash, was expected in the third quarter of 2026, with eligible cards to be announced later6. Whether it has launched is not confirmed.
- Maya. Visa Philippines’ release, which prints its date as 06/05/2025 (the second quarter of 2025 under either day-month reading), says Maya users can pull funds from foreign-issued Visa cards into the Maya wallet, aimed at tourists, expatriates and overseas workers5. The announcement does not say whether a Philippine mobile number is needed to open a Maya account.
